The West Cabin (Hermerstine Cabin) was the dream get away of Luke Hermerstine, a life-long resident of Chico, California. Luke had this cabin built in 1967 as his weekend getaway. He last visited his cabin in 2011 with his daughter, just a year before he passed. During Luke’s last visit he also enjoyed his last fishing trip on the private trout pond fed by a diversion from the South Fork of Battle Creek. That following year Mr. Hermerstine’s daughter offer to Lassen Ranch the purchase of her father’s dream cabin. In 2017 remodeling began which is now complete. The Hermerstine Cabin is a two-bedroom, one bath cabin, with a great room, full kitchen and fireplace. This is a wonderful cabin with loads of history.
