Fly Fishing Package

With over a mile of the south fork of Battle Creek, Lassen Ranch has one of few wild private trout fishing streams in all of Northern California. Limited to catch and release barbless fly-fishing, our stream is managed to ensure the health and vitality of our wild rainbow trout population.

Fly Fishing the South Fork of Battle Creek involves both fast moving riffles and deep clear pools beneath waterfalls. Both dry and wet flies on light four weight fly poles. Also available is a stocked trout pond fed by a non-consumptive use from Battle Creek.

Standard size for wild trout from the Lassen Ranch section of Battle Creek is 6 to 12 inches with the possibility of an occasional 14-16-inch rainbow trout.

Guide Service

Fishing focuses on the first three hours after sunrise, and the last two to three hours before sunset. Lunch is provided at creek side as the fishing area is about a 30-minute drive into the canyon from the lodge area. One guide per three rods is provided. Fly casting lessons are included and are part of the guide service. Instruction and recommendations are as little or as detailed as requested.

Food Service

Breakfast — include either Fly-fishers delight of simply juice, coffee and muffins, or alternatively, full ranch breakfast which include choice of eggs, waffles/pancakes, bacon/sausage, with seasonal fruit, juice, and coffee.

Lunch — is served Creekside and includes either sandwiches or barbecued sausage/burgers, served with chips/potato or pasta salad.

Dinner — is served generally in the late evening and begins with Hors d’oeuvre paired with choice of wine or imported beer. Dinner is country style generally involving barbequed meats, served with pasta or rice, with bread and salad. Desert is general either seasonal pie, or cakes.

Price — $350 per Rod, $200 for non-Fishing partners per day with one, two- and three-day packages available.

Not included — California Fishing license, fly fishing equipment, or gratuity.
