LR Blue Mate aka “Reno”
Lassen Ranch is dedicated exclusively to breeding the American Quarter Horse. The ranch is dedicated to producing kind, well mannered, intelligent cow horses from traditional AQHA cutting lines. This is reflected in the ranches broodmare band which includes such foundations lines as Doc Olena, Docs Tunder and Sugar Bars, along with more modern lines such as Bet Hesa Cat and LR Blue Mate. All Broodmares at Lassen Ranch are five panel negative.
The focus of the ranch's breeding program includes daughters of the Lassen Ranch’s resident stallion, LR Blue Mate (Mecom Blue x OK Mate by Smart Mate). LR Blue Mate, aka ‘Reno’, was trained and shown by Clayton Edsall and has AQHA points in Reining, Cutting and Working Cowhorse, and NRCHA earning both in Open and Non-Pro divisions. ‘Reno’ is five panel negative.
Featured outside stallions currently being utilized at Lassen Ranch includes Bet Hesa Cat, Hashtag and Stevie Rey Von.
